NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 10 Northeast Community College women's soccer team hosted Western Iowa Tech Community College at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk Wednesday. The Hawks took the contest by a final score of 3-1 in windy conditions.
Northeast (11-4-2, 5-1-1 ICCAC) and the Comets played an ultra-defensive match as the Comets only were able to get one shot against Hawks goalkeeper Sarah Huckels (Essen, Germany). It took until the final 10 minutes for either team to get on the board but a late goal from Talia Sanders (Queensland, Australia) put Northeast ahead for good. The victory keeps Western Iowa Tech behind the Hawks in the ICCAC standings with just two matches remaining in the regular season.
