Northeast (15-1-1, 7-0-1 ICCCAC) couldn't suffer a loss or a tie in the matchup to earn the No. 1 seed in the Region 11 Tournament as only a win would give them home-field advantage throughout the postseason. Aidyn Woodall (Castle Rock, Colo.) put in a beautiful ball from Talia Sanders (Queensland, Australia) and Marleigh Leister (South Jordan, Utah) scored off an assist from Anna Schloeglmann (Scharding, Austria) to give the Hawks the two goals necessary to play on their home turf throughout the playoffs.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller on what clicked in the mega matchup today:
"I loved seeing us play strong on all lines today," Miller said. "The girls were tested today by a lot of talent, and it was great seeing them step up to the challenge."
Miller on where the focus needs to be with the playoffs next:
"I feel the mindset has to be to refocus on the next goal," Miller said. "It's one step at a time, and when you get to the top only to see more steps, that can weigh on you. We can't let that set in. We have to refocus and climb those set of steps too. You can't get to the top without climbing."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will begin postseason play at 3 p.m. Saturday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk against either Scott Community College or Marshalltown Community College.
