HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH
Head Women's Soccer Coach Chad Miller's takeaways after the duel with No. 19 Waubonsee:
"Starting the season with two wins is a great start no matter who you are playing," Miller said. "In chats with the girls after there was no talk about the teams being ranked, but only of improving our game. I like that about this group."
Miller on the many different players stepping up for the Hawks in the contest with Jackson:
"We really saw some great things from the girls that give us confidence on our positional depth," Miller said. "Seeing the girls stepping up or volunteering to play a position to help the team shows the character of this group. They believe in themselves and each other. That is so important when playing a tough schedule."
Miller on how his group will approach the week off before taking on Central:
"We have spoken to the girls about needing some good practices to iron things out and just seeing us try some different things, so this week comes at a great time," Miller said. "All week we will focus on improving our game so we can come out refreshed and ready for Sunday."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will have the week off before battling Central Community College in their home opener at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
