ROSEMOUNT, Minn. – The Northeast Community College women's soccer team is firing on all cylinders.
The Hawks (12-5, 7-1 ICCAC) toppled Dakota County Technical College, 4-0 on Wednesday in an ICCAC match in Rosemount, Minn.
After a Sara Pedroza (Hastings, Neb.) goal in the first half, Romeni Gurmendi (Boulder, Colo.) tallied back-to-back goals to give the Hawks a 3-0 lead. Frida Aguilar-Ximello (Boulder, Colo.) added a goal in the 74th-minute to put the Blue Knights away for good.
The Hawks outshot DCTC, 44-0.
"Dakota County did a great job of defending and not allowing clear shots on goal," head coach Chad Miller said. "We took plenty of shots in the first half, but struggled finding space due to Dakota County stepping in front."
The Hawks welcome Scott Community College at 11 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
