Pedroza sisters guide Hawks past Scott CC

BETTENDORF, Iowa – Naomi Pedroza (Hastings, Neb.) and Sara Pedroza (Hastings, Neb.) accounted for six of the Northeast Community College women's soccer teams' 10 goals on Wednesday as the Hawks ran past Scott Community College, 10-0 in Bettendorf, Iowa.

Sara put the Hawks (10-5, 5-1 ICCAC) on the scoreboard first in the second minute, before Naomi added a goal 12 minutes later. Sara later found the back of the net in the 37^th-minute to close the Hawks' scoring in the first half. Kyler Bowman (Topeka, Kan.), Mackenzee Stokes (Ningi, Queensland) and Romeni Gurmendi (Boulder, Colo.) accounted for the next three goals in a span of 16 minutes.

Kailey Lincoln (Gold Coast, Queensland) tallied her first goal of the game in the 75^th-minute, while Naomi went on to score the next two goals. Sara capped the Hawks' scoring with an unassisted goal in the 88^th-minute.

"Today was another day where our offense was really clicking," head coach Chad Miller said. "We are really seeing the field well and finding the space. Overall it was a great team win and the women are really playing some great soccer."

Northeast outshot Scott, 25-7. Kelsey Tabbert (Elkhorn, Neb.) had six saves.

The Hawks host Southeastern Community College at 12 p.m. Saturday at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
