OTTUMWA, Iowa – A new week brought another match with an NJCAA DI opponent for the Northeast Community College women's soccer team.
The Hawks (4-4) fell in overtime to No. 13 Indian Hills Community College, 3-2 on Sunday in Ottumwa, Iowa.
Northeast held Indian Hills scoreless for the first half after Sara Pedroza (Hastings, Neb.) found the back of the net in the ninth minute. In the 59th-minute, Naomi Pedroza (Hastings, Neb.) found Kyler Bowman (Topeka, Kan.) for the Hawks' second goal of the match.
"We played a very strong first half but did not maintain that intensity throughout the rest of the match," head coach Chad Miller said. "We did some really good things, but we have to be able to play a whole 90 minutes."
Carolin Stahlmann (Ahrensburg, Germany) recorded 13 saves in the net.
