ROSEMOUNT, Minn. – Nothing seems to stop the Northeast women's soccer team.
The No. 16 Hawks (7-2-1, 7-2-1 ICCAC) shut-out Dakota County Technical College, 4-0 on Thursday in an ICCAC match in Rosemount, Minn.
Naomi Pedroza (Hastings, Neb.) found the open field and executed, thanks to assists from Frida Aguilar-Ximello (Boulder, Colo.) and Londyn Cacciacarne (Layton, Utah) in the 14th and 25th-minute of the first half. Brianna Mendias (Centennial, Colo.) found the back of the net to give the Hawks a 3-0 advantage at halftime. Aguilar-Ximello found the open net in the 72nd-minute off an assist from Pedroza to secure the victory for Northeast.
"We are playing some good soccer right now," head coach Chad Miller said. "We have some tough games coming up in the next three, so I am happy they will be at home."
The Hawks welcome Scott Community College for a 1 p.m. match on Sunday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
