WATERLOO, Iowa – The No. 19 Northeast Community College women's soccer team and (RV) Hawkeye Community College couldn't find the winning goal it was looking for on Thursday in Waterloo, Iowa.
Both teams played physical, but the ICCAC match ultimately ended in a draw.
"This was a very physical game," head coach Chad Miller said. "I was impressed with how well both teams competed. Our defense played a great game and kept us in the game and our midfield did a great job at possessing the ball. We are getting opportunities, but we are not taking advantage of those chances."
Hawkeye outshot the Hawks (1-2-1), 20-13. Mackenzie Byrnes (Brighton, Colo.) tallied 14 saves in the net.
The Hawks visit Scott Community College at 1 p.m. Saturday in Bettendorf, Iowa.
