MASON CITY, Iowa – The Northeast Community College women's soccer team grabbed its second conference win of the season, topping North Iowa Area Community College, 2-0 Wednesday in Mason City, Iowa.
The Hawks (2-3, 2-0 ICCAC) made quick work when Blair Buckingham found the net seven minutes into the match on an assist by Aspen Sharp. With 27 minutes remaining in the period, Mary Perez slipped the ball past the goalie on a combination play from Amanda Stricker and Tayler Ohu.
"We had more opportunities throughout the match, but we lacked a little composure in front of the net" head coach Chad Miller said. "In the end, we got the win and that is what matters in the rankings."
