NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women's basketball team hosted No. 3 Kirkwood Community College Saturday afternoon at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk. The Eagles came out on top in the battle by a final score of 70-42.
The Hawks (12-8, 5-5 ICCAC) knew they would face a tough test from nationally-ranked Kirkwood, and shooting woes made it difficult to keep pace with the Eagles throughout the day. Kirkwood shot 41.2-percent from the field while Northeast shot just 24.5-percent. A bright spot for the Hawks was Alexis Bliven (Holdrege, Neb.), as her 13 points were her season high.
