HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head women's basketball coach Matt Svehla's takeaways from the third ballgame of the season:
"Central came out in a zone so they were taking away some things we wanted inside, but I liked the looks we got, and we shot it very well in the first half," Svehla said. "I thought we had good ball movement. We got some up-tempo going. Our guards showed quickness and the ability to shoot it. I like that we got the game established how we wanted and got control of it."
Svehla on his groups 3-0 start to the season:
"I feel good," Svehla said. "We're doing what we have to do to get through. We aren't always playing clean, but it is early in the season so you kind of expect that. All of our games have taken on a different shape. Now we'll face a good opponent in Cloud County. They are going to be very good, so we will have to be ready to go."
UP NEXT:
Northeast will stay at home for their third game of this four-game homestand against Cloud County Community College at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
