Back in the win column: Northeast women stop Ellsworth at home
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team took care of Ellsworth Community College in the first quarter and never looked back on Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women's basketball team took care of Ellsworth Community College in the first quarter and never looked back on Saturday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks (6-10, 3-3 ICCAC) held off the Panthers in the second half and picked up a 60-47 ICCAC victory.
From start-to-finish the Hawks outscored the Panthers in each quarter, including a 21-12 third quarter the kept Ellsworth searching for answers. Thanks to a strong defensive effort, the Hawks forced 32 turnovers and held the Panthers to 1-of-12 shooting from the three-point line.
Ashley Hassett (Hershey, Neb.) had another double-double, tallying 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven steals. Autumn Dickmander (Brule, Neb.) added 14 points, while Molly Davis (Yutan, Neb.) pitched in 10 points and six boards.
The Hawks are back on the hardwood against Iowa Lakes Community College at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in Norfolk.
