Offensive team effort lifts Hawks to seventh-straight victory

NORFOLK, Neb. – It was a true offensive effort for the Northeast Community College women's basketball team on Wednesday night.
Every player for the Hawks (15-2) scored at least a point as the Hawks defeated Highway 81-rival Central Community College in non-conference action 85-58 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks forced 27 turnovers as Central could only muster eight points in the first quarter as Northeast went on to collect 25 points. Northeast was only out-scored in the third quarter by a point and ultimately managed to shoot 42 percent from the field, 37 percent from beyond the arc and 90 percent from the charity stripe.
Macey Kulhanek (Howells, Neb.) led the Hawks off the bench with 16 points. Beth Matas (Girona, Spain) added 15 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) pitched in 12 points, six assists and five steals. Breanna Stouffer (David City, Neb.) had 10 points and seven assists.
The Hawks entertain Iowa Western Community College at 5 p.m. Saturday in Norfolk.
