Hawks roll past Little Priest for 10th win of the season

From start to finish, the Hawks (10-2) kept their foot on the pedal, posting a 120-53 victory at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks allowed less than 20 points each quarter, thanks to a sound defensive effort that held the Warriors to only 32 percent shooting from the field.
Northeast led 64-32 at halftime and never looked back as seven players scored double digits. Beth Matas (Girona, Spain) paced the Hawks with 20 points, while Julia Carbonell (Barcelona, Spain) added 18. Hannah Kasik (Leigh, Neb.) had a career night with 13 points and eight rebounds. Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) recorded 12 points, while Macey Kulhanek (Howells, Neb.), Katarina Zagorac (Novi Sad, Serbia) and Emina Hadzihusejnovic (Mostar, Bosnia) each had 10.
The Hawks shot 55 percent from the field, 47 percent from beyond the arc and 73 percent from the free-throw line.
The Hawks are back in action on Friday when they compete in the Iowa Western Classic against Lake Region State College at 1 p.m. in Council Bluffs, Iowa, followed by a 1 p.m. battle with Snow College on Saturday.
