The Mustangs never let up in the second half, but the Hawks (13-9, 1-1 ICCAC) wouldn't go down without a fight. Northeast trailed by just four points with under three minutes to play, but the Mustangs built another 10-point lead to keep the Hawks from mounting another comeback.
Teagan Pompa (Elgin, Ill.) hit four 3-pointers, leading the Hawks in scoring with 14 points and four rebounds. Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) and Irene Sanz (Vilassar de Mar, Spain) added 12 points apiece. Emina Hadzihusejnovic (Mostar, Bosnia) was 5-for-5 from the field for 10 points and four boards.
