Hawks unable to fend off NIACC in Great Western Classic

It was a back-and-forth affair for much of the contest, but it was the Hawks (6-4) who tallied 23 points in the third quarter to tie the game heading into the fourth quarter. However, the Trojans tallied 25 points compared to 13 by the Hawks to put the game out of reach.
Teagan Pompa (Elgin, Ill.) led the Hawks off the bench with 15 points, including five 3-pointers. Eriana Brown (Des Moines, Iowa) and Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) had 13 points each in the loss.
Northeast will compete in the Iowa Western Classic on Friday and Saturday, squaring off with Labette Community College at 1 p.m., Friday, before taking on New Mexico Junior College at 1 p.m., Saturday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
