Northeast (14-17, 2-4 ICCAC) was powered on offense in Game 1 by Malika Monroe (Valentine, Neb.) as the sophomore launched her second home run in as many matchups at home. Bailee Ahlemeyer (Cambridge, Neb.) and Delaney Kruse (Wayne, Neb.) both recorded two hits and a double, but the Hawks' four runs weren't enough to top the Tritons.
Ahlemeyer was again the story in Game 2 as the freshman recorded three hits to bring her total to five on the day. Isabel Raburn (Holdrege, Neb.) pitched all seven innings in the circle and struck out two batters as Northeast will now turn their attention to another ranked squad in No. 7 Des Moines Area Community College tomorrow on the road.
