RABURN’S NO-HITTER HIGHLIGHT OF HAWKS TRIP TO FLORIDA
CLERMONT, Fla. – The Northeast Community College softball team traveled down to Clermont, Florida last week to compete in seven games as part of their spring break trip. The Hawks were victorious in five of the seven matchups.

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Northeast Community College softball team traveled down to Clermont, Florida last week to compete in seven games as part of their spring break trip. The Hawks were victorious in five of the seven matchups.
Northeast (10-9) began their trip with a 19-1 triumph against Erie Community College on Monday. Allie Funderburk (Starke, Fla.) picked up three RBIs in the contest to start the trip on the right track. Later that day, the Hawks topped Mid Michigan College by a final score of 7-1 behind two RBIs each from Rachel Hobbs (Hoskins, Neb.) and Delaney Kruse (Wayne, Neb.).
On Tuesday, Northeast took down SUNY Adirondack by a final score of 8-4 as Amy Lauby (Fairmont, Neb.), Grace Sievers (Gibbon, Neb. ) and Hobbs all homered. Jadyn Lauritsen (Dannebrog, Neb.) tossed all seven innings in the circle and allowed just five hits in the matchup. Later in the day, the Hawks fell 4-3 to Cuyahoga Community College while recording more hits than their opponent. Isabel Raburn (Holdrege, Neb.), Malika Monroe (Valentine, Neb.) and Talia Bandt (Grand Island, Neb.) all doubled in the matchup.
Another doubleheader was on tap for Thursday as Northeast fell 11-3 to Triton College in Game 1. Freshman Isabel Raburn tossed a no-hitter for the Hawks in Game 2, which was the second this year and the third in program history. Raburn went all seven innings and fanned 13 batters in the 3-0 victory for Northeast over Mott Community College.
Northeast finished the trip with a 5-3 triumph against South Suburban College on Friday as Lauby and Hobbs were excellent in the circle for the Hawks. The team will load up again and head to Cloud County Community College this weekend and will compete at Ta-Ha-Zouka Park next on Saturday, March 29 against Ellsworth Community College.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Softball Coach Erin Sharpe on what stood out to her about her team in Florida:
"I have liked the production from the entire team 1-16," Sharpe said. "We are making good adjustments at the plate and playing the game we know best."
Sharpe on closing the trip strong:
"I really liked the way we were playing as a team at the end of the trip," Sharpe said. "I think we are starting to find our rhythm and we are feeling more comfortable playing with each other and working for each other."
Sharpe on her overall takeaway from the seven games:
"As a whole, I think this was a successful trip," Sharpe said. "There were a lot of positives and some learning moments that will only make us stronger for ICCAC play."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will hit the road and will take on Cloud County Community College in a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday in Concordia, Kansas.
