Northeast softball concludes season in postseason play
BOONE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College softball team was unable to keep up with potent offense of Des Moines Area Community College, falling 8-0 on Friday in the Region XI-A Tournament in Boone, Iowa.

BOONE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College softball team was unable to keep up with potent offense of Des Moines Area Community College, falling 8-0 on Friday in the Region XI-A Tournament in Boone, Iowa.
The Hawks fell in the elimination bracket 10-2 to Southwestern Community College to end their season at 3-47 overall and 1-27 in ICCAC play.
Northeast was held hitless against DMACC in the five-inning affair.
Against Southwestern, Lindsey Anderson (Dunlap, Iowa) and Maggie Berryman (Norfolk, Neb.) both went 1-for-3 with an RBI at the plate.
Madison McKewon (Springfield, Neb.) was tagged with the loss after throwing five and one-third innings, allowing seven earned runs off 13 hits.
Northeast loses two sophomores to graduation.
