NORFOLK, Neb. – The No. 1 Northeast Community College men's soccer team returned home Wednesday to Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field for an intrastate battle with NJCAA DI Western Nebraska Community College. Northeast (15-1, 6-0 ICCAC) scored right out of the gate just as they have so many times this year with a goal from Sergio Aznar off a corner kick eight minutes into the contest. The Hawks took a slim 1-0 lead into the halftime break but goals from Edouard Nys (Dottignies, Belgium) and Lewis Rourke (Nottingham, England) in the second half were enough to give Northeast yet another victory.
STAT SHEET:

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Assistant Men's Soccer Coach Felipe Santos on grabbing another win:
"We earned another home victory!" Santos said. "While it might not have been perfect, at the end of the day we got the job done, which was our primary objective. We secured another win. Now, our focus shifts to another huge game on Saturday."
Santos on what this group of sophomores has meant to him with Sophomore Day next:
"This group of sophomores is truly special," Santos said. "We are fortunate to have them around, both to coach and learn from. Our strength, both on and off the field, is a result of these young men who bring their experience, passion and commitment to this team. I believe that the freshmen feel the same way and I couldn't ask for a better group of guys."
