NO. 1 NORTHEAST IMPROVES TO 12-0 WITH MEGA MATCH LOOMING
WATERLOO, Iowa – The No. 1 Northeast Community College men’s soccer team traveled to Waterloo, Iowa Saturday for a conference showdown with Hawkeye Community College. The Hawks downed the RedTails by a final score of 3-0 to remain undefeated.
WATERLOO, Iowa – The No. 1 Northeast Community College men's soccer team traveled to Waterloo, Iowa Saturday for a conference showdown with Hawkeye Community College. The Hawks downed the RedTails by a final score of 3-0 to remain undefeated.
Northeast (12-0, 3-0 ICCAC) scored just one minute into the matchup courtesy of a Jeevan Purewal (Wolverhampton, England) goal and tallied another score in the sixth minute from Sergio Aznar (Zaragoza, Spain). Another addition to the scoreboard in the second half from Aleksander Pedersen (Aarhus, Denmark) was enough to propel the Hawks to a perfect dozen victories to start the campaign.
All eyes will now shift to Wednesday, where Northeast will welcome current No. 3 and conference foe Iowa Lakes Community College in one of the most highly anticipated regular season matchups in school history.

Head Men's Soccer Coach Adam Potter on drowning out the noise and expectations to grab another win:
"The message we told our boys is no one cares about what you did yesterday," Potter said. "They only care about what you are doing today! Our boys have continued to fight every single time that they have taken the field."
Potter on the huge duel on the horizon:
"We have to conquer one day at a time this week and by the time Wednesday comes we will be ready for a battle!" Potter said. "You live for these moments and games! Norfolk and the surrounding community, we need you! We basically have a title game in our backyard. This is going to be a blast!"

The Hawks will compete in a match that has been circled on their calendars for quite some time as they will host No. 3 Iowa Lakes Community College at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
