NORTHEAST MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SOCCER TEAMS RANKED IN NJCAA PRESEASON POLL
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Northeast Community College men’s and women’s soccer teams are both ranked in the 2023 NJCAA DII Preseason Rankings, it was announced by the NJCAA Monday. The men’s team is ranked seventh while the women’s team is ranked eighth. The Hawks are one of just seven programs with both soccer squads placed in the preseason poll.

The Northeast men's and women's soccer teams were both Region 11 and Plains District Champions last season and each qualified for the 2022 NJCAA DII National Tournament in Tucson, Arizona. Luca Baltzer (Oberstenfeld, Germany), Teun van der Donk (Rotterdam, Netherlands), Tom Hennah (Little Sandhurst, England) and Jeevan Purewal (Wolverhampton, England) have returned for their sophomore seasons after being named All-Region in 2022 for the men's team. On the women's side, Jessie Eijbersen (Arnhem, Netherlands), Aidyn Woodall (Castle Rock, Colo.) and Oceanna Solis (Brighton, Colo.) are back for their second year after All-Region performances last season.
Both groups will get things started with a ranked matchup on the road as the women's team will battle No. 7 Schoolcraft College at 10 a.m. Thursday in Livonia, Michigan and then the men will square off with No. 17 Schoolcraft College after the completion of the women's game.
