NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's soccer team got back to the win column on Wednesday, shutting out Dakota County Technical College, 2-0 at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
David Evans (Littleton, Colo.) found the back of the in the 20th-minute, while Paul Einero (Cape Town, South Africa) scored the second goal for the Hawks (2-10, 1-1 ICCAC) in the first half. The Hawks defense held strong in the second half to keep the Blue Knights at bay.
"We had a tough loss on Saturday when we gave up a lead, so a win can help us keep on track mentally," head coach Chad Miller said. "I would still like to see us finish our opportunities that we get because we will need those in tight games. Our second half could have been stronger, but we didn't give up opportunities to DCTC. It is a win we needed, so hopefully it will keep us on track."
The Hawks visit Southeastern Community College at 4 p.m. on Saturday in West Burlington, Iowa.
