LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Northeast Community College men’s soccer team couldn’t keep up with NJCAA DI 14th-ranked Laramie County Community College on Saturday in Laramie, Wyo.

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Northeast Community College men's soccer team couldn't keep up with NJCAA DI 14th-ranked Laramie County Community College on Saturday in Laramie, Wyo.

Laramie County found the back of the net early and often to down the Hawks (1-4), 6-0. The Golden Eagles outshot the Hawks, 25-6, while Yahir Catalan (Schuyler, Neb.) recorded eight saves.

"The competition is proving to be a bit too much for us, but we are taking the hits now so that hopefully we won't take them once we are in conference play," head coach Chad Miller said. There are moments we play great soccer, but then one breakdown leads to another and then we are playing from behind. We put ourselves in tough situations to play out of, but as long as we learn and grow, we will make progress."

The Hawks square off with No. 2 Iowa Western Community College at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
