Northeast men's soccer falls in home opener
NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Northeast Community College men's soccer team had a tough time keeping up with Indian Hills Community College on Saturday, falling in ICCAC match, 5-2 at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Northeast Community College men's soccer team had a tough time keeping up with Indian Hills Community College on Saturday, falling in ICCAC match, 5-2 at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
The Warriors took the first lead of the game at the 13-minute mark, but Mano Veldt (Bussum, Netherlands) quickly found the back of the net in the 18th-minute. Indian Hills went on to score the next four goals, before Breno Neves (Brasilia, Brazil) kept the Hawks (0-2, 0-2 ICCAC) alive with a goal in the 66th-minute, but it ultimately wasn't enough.
Conner Bickford (Arvada, Colo.) tallied five total shots for the Hawks, while Jyson Breitbarth (Hilo, Hawaii) had six saves in the net.
The Hawks welcome Iowa Lakes Community College for a 1 p.m. match at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk.
