NORFOLK, Neb. – After two overtimes, both Northeast Community College and Hawkeye Community College couldn't find the back of the net and ultimately tying on Saturday in ICCAC action at Norfolk Veteran's Memorial Field in Norfolk.
The Hawks (2-8-1, 0-3-1) were able to out-shoot the RedTails, 10-6, but it wasn't enough. Jorge Trejo (Brighton, Colo.) had six saves for Northeast.
"This was a game I don't feel we were picked to win," head coach Chad Miller said. "Hawkeye is a talented and well-coached team. This may have been one of our best games played to this point. Our performance was much better, but we need to find that consistency to have a chance in this conference."
The Hawks battle North Iowa Area Community College at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Mason City, Iowa.
