HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on how the battle played out:
"I thought we started well," Clark said. "We had a few days of practice before the game and had a good gameplan going in. Credit to Southwestern. They have a couple of good players that they kind of lean on. They had their points. We had a chance late. Shot selection is one of those things where we have to take the shots that we work on. I was proud of the guys. I'm proud of the way that they fought and battled. I credit the guys. Learn from this game and move forward."
Clark on turning the page to WIT on Saturday:
"They got us last year there," Clark said. "We're looking at getting back on track and doing what we do. We are going to come back to practice tomorrow and work on defense on controlling the ball up top. They are going to shoot the ball well and we are going to have to defend. We have to hang our hat on defense. We can't guarantee that we are going to shoot very well every night, but we can guarantee that we are going to play tough defense."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will make a short trip next for a showdown with Western Iowa Tech Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Sioux City, Iowa.
