GARRETT SCORES 30 IN HAWKS LOSS TO NO. 6 BEARS
BOONE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team hit the road to battle on No. 6 Des Moines Area Community College Wednesday night in Boone, Iowa for their first matchup of ICCAC play. The Hawks fell in the showdown by a final score of 111-78.

Northeast (3-5, 0-1 ICCAC) was led in scoring on the night by Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) as the sophomore put in 30 points against the nationally-ranked Bears. Jaxon Claussen (Wausa, Neb.) scored 17 points in the contest, which were a career high. The Hawks will now set their sights on their first conference duel at home Saturday against North Iowa Area Community College.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the night and looking ahead to NIACC on Saturday:
"We had a tough time finding a rhythm on both ends of the floor tonight," Clark said. "We have to get ready for a tough NIACC team on Saturday."
