GARRETT TALLIES 27 POINTS IN LOSS THURSDAY NIGHT
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast men’s basketball team hosted Morningside University JV at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk Thursday night in their third home battle of the still young season. The Hawks fell in the matchup by a final score of 89-79.
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team hosted Morningside University JV at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk Thursday night in their third home battle of the still young season. The Hawks fell in the matchup by a final score of 89-79.
Northeast (2-2) sophomore Vincent Garrett (Lincoln, Neb.) excelled in front of the home crowd as he shot 11-for-16 from the field in the showdown and recorded 27 points and nine assists. Sunny Singh (Queens, N.Y.) and Collin Nick (Lincoln, Neb.) both joined Garrett in double figures as Singh had 18 points and Nick added 10 of his own. The Hawks will have the weekend off before returning to play on the road against Central Community College next Tuesday.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the ballgame tonight:
"Morningside shot the ball well and got to the loose balls," Clark said. "They wanted the game more than we did. Proud of the way the guys responded late by tying the game. We have a quick turnaround to play Central on Tuesday. We'll take a day off and get back at it to prepare for Central."

The Hawks will hit the road next on Tuesday in a showdown with Central Community College at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Columbus, Nebraska.
