MOORE LEADS NORTHEAST IN SCORING IN LOSS TO NO. 12 KIRKWOOD
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team took on No. 12 Kirkwood Community College in a conference matchup Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Eagles took a 90-53 victory in the contest.
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team took on No. 12 Kirkwood Community College in a conference duel Saturday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Eagles took a 90-53 victory in the contest.
Northeast (5-7, 1-4 ICCAC) got out to a five-point lead within the first two minutes of the battle and led until the 15-minute mark of the first half. Kirkwood would go on to pull away from the Hawks as the ranked Eagles were able to pull down 54 rebounds compared to just 30 from Northeast. Kamari Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) continued his promising freshman campaign as he tallied 11 points in 18 minutes of play.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on the positives from the matchup:
"Proud of the way the guys competed," Clark said. "We couldn't get in a rhythm with how the game was getting called and tried to adjust. Need to use this to get better."
Clark on returning home Wednesday for a showdown with Iowa Central:
"We need to get back on track against Iowa Central," Clark said. "We match well with them, but need to play the type of ball in which we're capable of."

The Hawks will battle Iowa Central Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
