MARTIN AND TUT OFF BENCH POWER HAWKS OVER BOBCATS
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team played in front of many friends and family members Tuesday night in a battle with Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Hawks were victorious in the showdown by a final score of 73-66.
LINCOLN, Neb. – The Northeast Community College men's basketball team played in front of many friends and family members Tuesday night in a battle with Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Hawks were victorious in the showdown by a final score of 73-66.
Northeast (4-2) has four players who call Lincoln their hometown and were ready to put on a show back at their old stomping grounds. The Hawks triumphed 93-70 over the Bobcats on November 7 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk and had their minds set on taking both season-series clashes. Jacob Martin (Omaha, Neb.) pitched in 16 points off the bench while Mat Tut (Omaha, Neb.) also recorded a season-high 16 points as part of the reserve unit that Northeast has relied heavily on this season. The Hawks forced Southeast into 22 turnovers as their defensive pressure got to the Bobcats for the second time this year to propel Northeast to their first season sweep of the year.

Head Men's Basketball Coach Josh Clark on why his squad found success tonight:
"The guys came out and pressured them like we do," Clark said. "Give credit to Southeast. They responded. Our guys had this one circled since the beginning of the season. They were ready. I'm proud of how we hit big shots down the stretch."
Clark on how he wants his team to use the upcoming small break:
"We need to heal up and get back to 100-percent," Clark said. We'll use this time to rest get ready for the tough stretch leading into Christmas break."

The Hawks will have a week off before heading to Central Community College for a matchup at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Columbus, Nebraska.
