Sanusi’s hot shooting not enough for Northeast men’s basketball
OTTUMWA, Iowa – Saheed Sanusi (Nassau, Bahamas) continued his hot streak Saturday night, but it wasn’t enough as the Northeast Community College men’s basketball team fell to NJCAA DI Indian Hills Community College, 92-58 at the Hy-Vee Classic in Ottumwa, Iowa.
OTTUMWA, Iowa – Saheed Sanusi (Nassau, Bahamas) continued his hot streak Saturday night, but it wasn't enough as the Northeast Community College men's basketball team fell to NJCAA DI Indian Hills Community College, 92-58 at the Hy-Vee Classic in Ottumwa, Iowa.
The Hawks (4-8, 0-2 ICCAC) played much better than the scoreboard indicated, and only trailed 37-31 at halftime. Sanusi started the game by hitting two three-pointers in the first half after going 6-for-6 from deep in Friday night's contest. Four players including Sanusi scored double figures as Evan Decker (Omaha, Neb.) contributed 13 points and seven rebounds, Emaniel Alexandre (Nassau, Bahamas) added twelve points, four steals, and three assists, while Jaden Strachan (Nassau, Bahamas) tallied 10 points and five rebounds.
The Hawks return home at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to the Cox Activities Center to battle Southwestern Community College in an ICCAC matchup.
