Turnovers plague Northeast men’s basketball on Saturday

NORFOLK, Neb. – Turnovers proved to be costly for the Northeast Community College men's basketball team on Saturday.
The Hawks (3-6, 0-1 ICCAC) shot 47 percent from the field, but couldn't stop North Iowa Area Community College, falling 93-80 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks nearly matched the Trojans point-for-point in the second half, but the Trojans had other plans as they shot 57 percent from beyond the arc and forcing 20 turnovers in the ICCAC contest.
Jai'lyn Spears (Omaha, Neb.) had 25 points off the bench on 10-of-19 shooting from the field. Jaden Strachan (Nassau, Bahamas) chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds, while Emaniel Alexandre (Nassau, Bahamas) nearly had a double-double with 12 points, nine boards and five steals.
The Hawks square off with Ellsworth Community College at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
