Down by 10 points at halftime, the Hawks (0-1) couldn't keep up with the highly potent Mustang offense as they shot 53 percent from the field. The Mustangs held the Hawks scoreless for a mere five minutes in the second half, ultimately taking a 21-point lead with 13:26 to play in the game. Jaden Strachan (Nassau, Bahamas) and Collin Storr (Nassau, Bahamas) hit back-to-back layups to bring the Hawks within 15 points, but it wasn't enough as the Hawks' defense sputtered in the final 10 minutes.
Jared Lopez (Lincoln, Neb.) tallied 22 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the field. Storr added 17 points, while Strachan had 13. Jai'lyn Spears (Omaha, Neb.) pitched in 11 points.
