IOWA FALLS, Iowa – Five days ago, Michael Anderson (Lincoln, Neb.) netted a career-high 32 points against Kirkwood Community College.
On Thursday night, he broke the five-day-old record, tallying 34 points as the Northeast Community College men's basketball team topped Ellsworth Community College, 72-63 in Iowa Falls, Iowa.
Anderson shot 12-of-24 from the field, while adding seven rebounds. Evan Decker (Omaha, Neb.) added 17 points and eight boards. He ranks No. 6 at the NJCAA DI level in total points with 249. The Hawks (3-9, 3-9 ICCAC) took a 12-point lead into halftime and had just enough offensive firepower to take care of the Panthers.
Ben Tew (Cheshire, England) tallied eight points and 12 rebounds. The Hawks shot 41 percent from the field in the victory.
The Hawks welcome No. 8 Indian Hills Community College for a 3 p.m. ICCAC showdown at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
