NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Northeast Community College men's basketball team had a tough time stopping the potent Des Moines Area Community men's basketball team on Wednesday night, falling 102-79 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
The Hawks (1-8, 1-8 ICCAC) struggled to score in the first half, tallying only 29 points. The Bears quickly went to work in the second half to out-score the Hawks, 61-50 to keep the Hawks from mounting any comeback.
Evan Decker (Omaha, Neb.) recorded 23 points and five rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting from the field, including 7 3-pointers. Michael Anderson (Lincoln, Neb.) pitched in 19 points, seven boards and five assists. Jared Lopez (Lincoln, Neb.) and Devin Ross (Cartersville, Ga.) added eight points.
The Hawks square off with Kirkwood Community College at 3 p.m. Saturday in Norfolk.
