The Blackhawks held the Northeast Community College men's basketball team to 31 points in the first half and ultimately topped the Hawks (13-17, 2-6 ICCAC), 82-71 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
Southeastern double-teamed the conference-leading scorer Emmette Page (Crystal, Minn.) for much of the game, holding the sophomore to seven points. Daniel Akuei (Melbourne, Australia) led the Hawks with 17 points and eight rebounds. Abdul Wurie (London, United Kingdom) had his best night in a Hawks uniform, tallying 13 points and nine rebounds. Ben Moxness (Scribner, Neb.) had 12 points.
The Hawks shot 43 percent from the field and 36 percent from the three-point line.
The Hawks host Marshalltown Community College for a 7 p.m. tip-off in the first round of the Region XI Tournament on Monday in Norfolk.
