Pete Sitorius enters his third year with the Northeast Community College baseball coaching staff as the infield and hitting coach.

Sitorius coached shortstop Zan Zielinski, who became the first Northeast baseball player to ever be selected in the MLB Draft as he was taken in the ninth round of the 2024 draft with pick 268 by the San Francisco Giants on July 15, 2024.

In his second season with the Hawks, Northeast tied their program record for wins in a season originally set in Sitorius’ first season with 39. Clay Beaumont and Gage Ingram were named First Team All-Region, Harrison Taubert and Kaden Young were named Second Team All-Region and Cade Grevengoed, Derek Woolwine and Taylor Gill were named Honorable Mention All-Region. The Hawks won two games at the Region 11 Tournament and 10 different players sign to continue their academic and athletic careers at four-year institutions.

Year one for Sitorious in a Northeast uniform was a major success as Northeast set the program record for wins in a season with 39. There were 15 players who committed to play elsewhere after completion of the Hawks season and infielder Zane Zielinski was named Second Team All-Region.

Before Northeast, Sitorius was the infield and hitting coach at Bismarck State College in Bismarck, N.D. Under Sitorius, the Bismarck State hitters slashed a .361 team batting average on their way to a conference tournament title and a Region XIII runner-up finish. Multiple players earned All-Region recognition, while Kyle Leapaldt was named an NJCAA DII All-American.

Prior to Bismarck State, Sitorius was the assistant coach at NCAA DII Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. He guided Eckered to its first Sunshine State Conference Championship since 1981 and their first postseason appearance in 32 years. While at Eckerd, Sitorius coached four MLB draft picks.

In the summer of 2018, Sitorius helped coach the Albert Lea Lakers of the Pioneer Collegiate League where he led the team to a regular season and postseason championship, while coaching two MLB draft selections. In 2017, he also played and coached for the Ozark Generals, a summer collegiate baseball team in Springfield, Missouri, a member of the MINK League, guiding them to a South Division Championship.

A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Sitorius was a four-year starter at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska. He recorded a .290 career batting average with 19 doubles and 42 RBI. He earned a bachelor's degree in sports management and a master's degree in professional studies from Missouri State University.
