CORK DOMINANT ON THE MOUND AS HAWKS TAKE SERIES FROM TIGERS
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The Northeast Community College baseball team hit the road over the weekend and took on Marshalltown Community College in three games in Marshalltown, Iowa. The Hawks fell in Game 1 by a final score of 7-2 before taking the final two contests of the series 9-4 and 14-0.

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa – The Northeast Community College baseball team hit the road over the weekend and took on Marshalltown Community College in three games in Marshalltown, Iowa. The Hawks fell in Game 1 by a final score of 7-2 before taking the final two contests of the series 9-4 and 14-0.
Northeast (28-23, 14-14 ICCAC) was led by Giuseppe Salvatore (Johnstown, Colo.) in the first matchup of the weekend as the freshman had two hits and an RBI. Jack Borgmann (Norfolk, Neb.) also had three hits of his own including a double while Caden Rezac (Ogallala, Neb.) tossed five strikeouts in five innings of work.
Trenton Barry (Wahoo, Neb.), Kye Privett (Papillion, Neb.), Hayden Parrish (Omaha, Neb.) and Borgmann all recorded RBIs in Game 2 as the Hawks offense came alive. Braden Cork (Omaha, Neb.) was dominant in relief on the mound as he allowed just one hit in four innings of work to keep Northeast in contention during the later innings in what was just his second appearance in April.
On Sunday, the Hawks were able to force a run-rule and completed the third showdown of the series in just seven innings as Cooper Tessendorf (Columbus, Neb.) and Ben Sterbens (Omaha, Neb.) combined to toss a shutout. Parrish was clutch at the plate again as he hit a triple, double and a single in the ballgame and tacked on three RBIs.

Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on the dominance from Braden Cork:
"It was good to see him back out there and then throw really well," Clapp said. "Shows his character."
Clapp on the series win:
"We showed up to play and that's a big difference," Clapp said. "When we show up and want to compete, we are pretty good."
Clapp on the final week of the regular season ahead:
"We need to show up and compete this whole last week!" Clapp said.
