HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head Baseball Coach Marcus Clapp on his pitchers and hitters putting it all together today:
"That's what we need to do," Clapp said. "I really feel like we've pitched well for the most part this year. I sound like a broken record, but when we worry about us, have approaches and throw strikes, we can play with anyone. I thought we did a good job of throwing strikes and getting ahead today. Game 1 was a little slow for a bit, but we found a way to add a run every inning and obviously Oliver threw well in Game 2. It's two games and we'll get back after it tomorrow to see what we can do."
Clapp on reaching 30 victories again this season:
"It's nice to win 30," Clapp said. "Obviously, it doesn't matter until the end of the year. It's nice to win that many and we are putting ourselves in a good spot for the conference tournament. We have to finish these last two weeks because it is going to be tough down the stretch. We have to take care of business tomorrow and then we'll go from there."
UP NEXT:
The Hawks will finish their series with Southwestern Community College at 12 p.m. tomorrow at Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk.
