BURLINGTON, Iowa – The No. 18 Northeast Community College baseball team dropped two games Saturday on the road against Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa. The Blackhawks took Game 1 by a final score of 7-6 and repeated that result in Game 2, winning 22-5.
In Game 1 the Hawks (36-14, 16-12 ICCAC) and Blackhawks took an extra frame to decide who would come out on top. Northeast fell behind 5-1 after three innings but rallied to score four runs in the seventh to tie the ballgame thanks to a three-run homer from Maxim Fullerton (Steamboat Springs, Colo.). The game was originally scheduled to be a seven-inning contest but went to the eighth inning where Northeast took the lead on a sacrifice fly from Zane Zielinski (Chicago, Ill.). However, the Blackhawks would make a rally of their own as they scored two runs in the bottom half of the inning to walk-off the Hawks.
Game 2 again saw the two squads trade leads early as the Blackhawks scored four runs in the first inning before the Hawks scored five of their own in the second inning. The Blackhawks were able to put 14 runs on the board in the second inning and four more in the third inning to take the game in just five innings.

Head baseball coach Marcus Clapp's thoughts on both games today:
"We had a chance to win Game 1 after we fought back and couldn't get it closed out," Clapp said. "Game 2 was not a sign of who we are, but it is going to take this team to understand who we are and what Northeast baseball is about to get this figured out."
