HAWKS STAY HOT AND EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO 14
MCCOOK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team put together another two stellar performances in a mid-week doubleheader Wednesday against McCook Community College to increase their winning-streak to 14 games.

MCCOOK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team put together another two stellar performances in a mid-week doubleheader Wednesday against McCook Community College to increase their winning streak to 14 games.
Game 1 saw the Hawks fall behind 2-0 early in the bottom of the second inning, but a two-run fourth inning evened the score at 2-2. A bases-clearing triple from Cooper Whitt (Knoxville, Tenn.) pushed three runs across the plate in the fifth inning to break the game open. A five-run fifth inning and a five-run sixth inning were enough to give the Hawks a 15-5 victory in seven innings.
In Game 2 the slugging continued for the Hawks as Samuel Manwarren (Overland Park, Kan.) added to his Game 1 performance by smashing another two homers. Maxim Fullerton (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) and Rusty Wortman (Gretna, Neb.) both joined the party in the fourth inning as they both hit their first home runs of the season. The Hawks won the game by a final score of 9-4 in eight innings.

The Hawks will play McCook Community College again next, but this time on their home field. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Veteran's Memorial Field in Norfolk.
