Solid pitching propels Hawks to first postseason victory over Iowa Central

The Hawks (28-18, 16-12 ICCAC) were first on the scoreboard in the top of third, thanks to a two RBI single from Bryce Walker (Papillion, Neb.). Northeast went on to add an insurance run in the top of the fifth and sixth innings to come away with the victory.
Christian Dumont (Bellevue, Neb.) went 3-for-4 with two runs, a stolen base and a walk, while Donovan Warren (Omaha, Neb.) added two hits and a stolen base. Drew Smith (Elkhorn, Neb.) had a double to pace the Hawks.
Andrew Shaw (Dillon, Colo.) tossed six innings, allowing no earned runs off six hits, while striking out six batters and walking one.
Alex Potter (Parker, Colo.) threw two innings of relief, giving up just a hit, while striking out a batter and walking one.
The Hawks will face the winner between Des Moines Area Community College and North Iowa Area Community College at Noon tomorrow in Clinton.
