BOONE, Iowa – The Northeast Community College volleyball team took on conference foe No. 18 Des Moines Area Community College Wednesday for the first time this season. The Bears came out on top by a final score of 3-1in four sets.
The Hawks (15-15, 2-5 ICCAC) dropped the first two sets but made a fantastic rally to dominate the third set. The fourth set didn't go Northeast's way, but set three showed the full potential of what the Hawks could possibly be if everything is clicking.

HEAR FROM THE HAWKS COACH:
Head volleyball coach Amanda Schultze on the game and the third set:
"We struggled to get our setter the ball tonight," Schultze said. "Got off to a slow start. We've been working on blocking in practice, and we finally saw that in the third set, but we failed to continue that throughout the entire match. We just really need to focus on us and bringing what we learn in practice to the games."
Schultze on honoring student manager Hanna Marshall during Northeast's next game:
"Hanna has been amazing," Schultze said. "She does her job well and without question. She's always a joy to be around! Hanna is a hard worker and we are going to miss her dearly next year!"
UP NEXT:
Northeast will be back at home to recognize their sophomores and celebrate Parents Night at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk against Ellsworth Community College.
