Northeast volleyball unable to stop No. 8 Kirkwood
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team welcomed No. 8 Kirkwood Community College to the Cox Activities Center on Tuesday in Norfolk and had a tough time holding off the Eagles, falling in three sets.
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College volleyball team welcomed No. 8 Kirkwood Community College to the Cox Activities Center on Tuesday in Norfolk and had a tough time holding off the Eagles, falling in three sets.
The Hawks (4-13, 2-2 ICCAC) put up a fight in the first and third sets, but couldn't hold off the potent Kirkwood offensive attack as set scores were, 25-20, 25-8 and 25-22 in the ICCAC match.
Danielle Wadsworth (Wolbach, Neb.) led the Hawks with 10 kills and 13 digs. Edyn Sudbeck (Wynot, Neb.) pitched in 25 assists, while Elizabeth Christensen (Stanton, Neb.) added 21 digs. Lauren Kavan (Cedar Bluffs, Neb.) had six kills and 16 digs.
The Hawks compete in a triangular this weekend, taking on Otero Junior College at 3 p.m. and McCook Community College at 5 p.m. Saturday in McCook, Neb.
