Matas, Moore and Hadzihusejnovic earn First Team All-Region honors
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College women’s basketball team had another successful season after finishing 27-4 and a perfect 20-0 record on its home court. On Monday, Beth Matas (Girona, Spain), Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) and Emina Hadzihusejnovic (Mostar, Bosnia) were named First Team All-Region members, it was announced by the ICCAC.

On Monday, Beth Matas (Girona, Spain), Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) and Emina Hadzihusejnovic (Mostar, Bosnia) were named First Team All-Region members, it was announced by the ICCAC.
Moore led the Hawks in scoring with 16.2 points per game and was the leading point scorer in the ICCAC. She also hit 50 percent of her shots from the field and 41 percent from the three-point line. Moore scored a season-high 27 points against Central Community College and she also scored 20 or more points in a game on 10 different occasions.
Matas was the starting point guard for the Hawks as a freshman and didn't disappoint in her first year in a Hawks uniform. She was the conference leader in three-pointers made with 73, while scoring 13.4 points per game. Six times she hit five or more 3-pointers in a game and twice hitting six. She also ranks in the top-25 in the country in total assists with 142.
Hadzihusejnovic led the conference in rebounding with 7.6 rebounds per game. She also had the highest field goal percentage at 53 percent. She had five double-doubles this season, while averaging 11.6 points per game.
Freshman Breanna Stouffer (David City, Neb.) and Lorna Maxon (Laurel, Neb.) each earned Honorable Mention All-Region status.
Stouffer averaged eight points per game, while grabbing 4.1 rebounds. Maxon scored 5.7 points per game and tallied 5.7 rebounds per contest.
