Second-half effort lifts Northeast over Concordia JV
NORFOLK, Neb. – Led by a 15-point performance from Eriana Brown (Des Moines, Iowa), the Northeast Community College women’s basketball team picked up its second win in as many nights on Tuesday, topping Concordia University JV 74-60 at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.

Down by five points heading into halftime, the Hawks (10-7) used 22 points off turnovers committed by the Bulldogs. Northeast went on to out-score the visitors 23-11 in the third quarter, before notching 20 points in the fourth quarter to pull away late and secure the victory.
Irene Sanz (Vilassar de Mar, Spain) and Kori Fischer (South Sioux City, Neb.) added 13 points, while Fischer had eight rebounds, five assists and two steals.
Freshman Kyla Moore (Norfolk, Neb.) sparked the Hawks off the bench with eight points, seven rebounds and five steals. Jade Blackburn (Surrey, England), Teagan Pompa (Elgin, Ill.) and Caitlin Orton (Mills, Neb.) each chipped in seven points.
The Hawks square off with Iowa Western Community College in a crucial ICCAC match up at 5 p.m. Saturday in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
