HAWKS DOMINATE FRIDAY IN CRESTON
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team hit the road to Creston, Iowa Friday for two showdowns with Southwestern Community College. The Hawks were big winners with a 17-8 triumph in Game 1 and a 19-5 victory in Game 2.

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team hit the road to Creston, Iowa Friday for two showdowns with Southwestern Community College. The Hawks were big winners with a 17-8 triumph in Game 1 and a 19-5 victory in Game 2.
Northeast (25-8, 9-3 ICCAC) had great run support throughout the afternoon as both Rusty Wortman (Gretna, Neb.) and Kaden Young (Columbus, Neb.) blasted homers in Game 1. Parker Stewart (Urbandale, Iowa) pitched three innings in relief and allowed just one hit and one earned run while striking out three batters.
Taylor Gill (Orem, Utah) launched a home run in Game 2 and stole three different bases in the matchup. Jackson Foster (Wichita, Kan.) went three innings in relief and allowed just three hits, zero earned runs and struck out six different Spartans. A nine-run ninth inning was enough to put the game away with ease for the Hawks as they will hunt for a series sweep tomorrow.

Head baseball coach Marcus Clapp on what clicked today:
"I thought we did some good things both offensively and defensively," Clapp said. "We kept the pressure on them and made some plays!"
Clapp on going for the series sweep Saturday:
"We just need to stay the course and focus on getting better," Clapp said.
