GREVENGOED DRIVES IN FIVE TUESDAY TO BOOST HAWKS OVER BEARS
NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team returned home to Norfolk Veterans Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk Tuesday for a matchup with Des Moines Area Community College in their fourth contest in three days. The Hawks wrapped up the ballgame in just seven innings by a final score of 20-5.

Northeast (23-8, 7-3 ICCAC) had it all working in the showdown as Rusty Wortman (Gretna, Neb.) and Harrison Taubert (Casper, Wyo.) both tripled in the bottom of the first inning to put the Hawks in front. Both Taylor Gill (Orem, Utah) and Cade Grevengoed (West Des Moines, Iowa) cleared the bases via the long ball in the matchup while Grevengoed picked up five RBIs as the eight-hole hitter for Northeast. Nick Vilims (Evergreen, Colo.) grabbed his third win of the campaign as the Hawks have now started the week with two victories after it was announced on Monday that they are receiving votes in the latest NJCAA DII Baseball Rankings.

Head baseball coach Marcus Clapp on his group staying poised in the contest:
"We did some really good things today," Clapp said. "I told the guys we needed to cap off this three-day stretch with a win and they came out and attacked. I think they responded well."
