NORFOLK, Neb. – The Northeast Community College baseball team welcomed Lake Region State College – ND back to Norfolk Veteran's Memorial Baseball Field in Norfolk Monday to complete the three-game series between the two teams. The Hawks downed the Royals in Game 1 by a final score of 11-0 and took home a 5-4 victory in Game 2.
Northeast (16-5) picked right back up where they left off during Sunday's 26-0 victory as they put up five runs in the first inning, two runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth inning to finish the contest in just five innings. Game 2 didn't come quite as easy for the Hawks as the Royals were ahead on the scoreboard 5-2 after four innings. Two runs in the sixth inning and a Kaden Young walk-off two-RBI double in the seventh inning secured the series sweep for Northeast.
